Breville pairs the built-in conical grinder and 54mm portafilter of the Barista Express with a colour touchscreen that walks you through grind, dose and milk, plus an automatic steam wand that textures to a set temperature and foam level. It is the bridge between a semi-automatic and a super-automatic: you still tamp and lock in a portafilter, but the machine removes the two steps beginners most often get wrong.
